Chamber members and guests enjoyed our return to in-person events – and we integrated a hybrid approach into all of our gatherings. Live events averaged 500 participants and our online presence reached 831 streaming views. We hosted 61 ribbon-cutting ceremonies, amplifying the reach of area member businesses to raise their visibility with new and potential clients and customers.

Public Policy and Councils Grow Together

We seek to forge a more collaborative policy agenda that positions our Chattanooga Chamber as the proactive advocate on behalf of member businesses and regional economic growth. Our continual work includes:

  • Monitored 150 pieces of legislation and actively supported the Governor’s Transportation Modernization Act.

  • Signed on to letters supporting Chattanooga’s efforts to expand passenger rail to the city, Immigration, early childhood education funding

  • Hosted nine Chamber Chatts, Legislative Kickoff, Day on the Hill, bus tour of Oak Ridge with U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Legislative wrapup with new partner WTCI, & Federal Focus, launched the Policy Chatt podcast

Council accomplishments

  • The Hixson Council Expo had over 35 vendors and over 130 attendees
  • The North Chattanooga Council hosted its third annual Expo. While the Downtown Council and the East Ridge Council hosted their first council Expo
  • Ooltewah/Collegedale Council Raised over $5000 for the schools in their footprint
  • The Midtown Council has worked to host bi-monthly food drives

Diversify 2023 and the business case for diversity

Our Diversity and Inclusive Growth team continued the Chamber’s goal of fostering a thriving business community where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.

On June 14, the Chattanooga Chamber hosted the first in-person Diversify event in three years, with around 350 attendees.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team also launched two new small business development initiatives – a Procurement Pilot and the Financial Literacy Series,

The Chattanooga Chamber’s leadership development programs continued their commitment to increased engagement and diversity. The Leadership Chattanooga class of 2024 is the most diverse class yet, and with more than 300 nominations, this year promises to be one of the most competitive in recent memory.
