Chattanooga Room in the Inn is a newer member of the Chamber, but we are far from new to Chattanooga. We recently celebrated 38 years of serving women and children experiencing homelessness in our community.

CRITI provides something different from a traditional emergency shelter. We are the only shelter in Hamilton County offering a six-month live-in program specifically designed for women and children experiencing homelessness, with wrap-around support built into their stay. Residents receive housing, case management, educational and employment support, life skills programming, child advocacy, and other resources designed to help them move toward stability and independence.

We also serve young people through our Unaccompanied Youth Program, supporting eligible students experiencing homelessness without a parent or guardian with safe shelter, educational support, tutoring and mentorship, case management, and life skills training.

Local Business Involvement

Our work depends on strong community partnerships, and local businesses have many ways to connect with CRITI. We work with businesses on annual sponsorships, employee volunteer opportunities, co-branded initiatives, event partnerships, community outreach, and other opportunities tailored to the business’s interests and goals.

Businesses can also support CRITI through financial contributions, matching gifts, employee giving, and in-kind support. We know every business has different resources and priorities, so we would love to have a conversation about what partnership could look like for your company.

CRITI Thrift Store

Our thrift store in East Ridge is another important part of CRITI’s work. The store generates revenue to support our programs while providing the community with affordable clothing, furniture, home goods, accessories, and other secondhand finds.

The store also offers opportunities for community members to volunteer, and we welcome groups looking for a meaningful way to spend time serving together.

After 38 years, we are grateful to continue growing our relationships throughout Chattanooga and to be part of a business community that cares about the people who call this city home.
