Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. is pleased to welcome attorney Samaria “Sammy” Codougan and paralegal Rhiannon Seiger, who will support the firm’s construction, intellectual property, litigation, and real estate practice areas.

Codougan focuses her practice on intellectual property law, advising clients on the protection, management, and the strategic use of their innovations. She assists with patent, trademark, and copyright matters, including evaluating patentability and trademark eligibility, preparing and prosecuting applications, and guiding clients through registration and enforcement. She also advises on infringement risks and represents clients in defending and enforcing their intellectual property rights.
Codougan works with a diverse range of clients, including entrepreneurs, inventors, startups, established companies, universities, and governmental entities. Her experience spans industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, agriculture, environmental sciences, and technology, where she works with clients across a range of technical and regulated sectors. Codougan earned her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee.
Seiger supports attorneys across the firm’s construction, real estate, and business litigation practices. In addition to more than five years of experience in the legal field, she has a background in banking and real estate investment. That experience has shaped her understanding of financial operations, client service, property transactions, and market dynamics, supporting her work on a range of complex matters. Seiger earned a legal secretary certificate from the University of Tennessee.
