Special Kids Chattanooga will celebrate the grand opening of its new pediatric therapy clinic with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 26 at 12:30 p.m., located at 6221 Shallowford Road, Suite 101.
This marks a significant expansion for Special Kids, a nonprofit founded 26 years ago in Murfreesboro, TN, dedicated to serving children with special healthcare needs. The Chattanooga location is already providing occupational and physical therapy, with plans to add speech and feeding therapy.
“We’re here because families in Chattanooga are struggling to access the therapy their children desperately need,” said Carrie Goodwin, Founder of Special Kids. “Waitlists are long, out-ofpocket costs are often too high, and for some, services simply don’t exist close to home. We’re stepping in to fill those gaps with compassionate, high-quality care that’s accessible to all.”
The new clinic is uniquely positioned to serve children regardless of financial barriers or insurance coverage. Special Kids accepts referrals from pediatricians, specialists, and healthcare providers and offers therapy in a warm, family-centered environment.
The ribbon cutting will include:
- Remarks from Special Kids leadership and community supporters
- Recognition of partners, volunteers, and donors
- Tours of the new therapy clinic
- Sweet treats, giveaways, and a live remote from J103
Community members, healthcare professionals, and families are encouraged to attend and learn more about the services now available in Chattanooga.
