CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 21, 2024)–Southeast real estate development group Urban Story Ventures broke ground today on a $28 million state-of-the-art Class A industrial building, situated on 19 acres within the Centre South Riverport Industrial Park. The site is located at 2685 Riverport Road in the bustling industrial corridor along Amnicola Highway and the Tennessee River.
Community stakeholders and business leaders gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony, where officials from Hamilton County, the City of Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Area Chamber shared their support of the project, which is expected to meet a serious need for more class A industrial space and potentially recruit one of Chattanooga’s next great employers.
“Hamilton County has been an economic powerhouse for generations because road, rail, and water meet here. Urban Story’s investment at Centre South capitalizes on our county’s strengths and reinforces Hamilton County as the premier logistics hub in the South,” said Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp.
“I’m proud to see Chattanooga-based Urban Story Ventures investing here at home to build on their history of transforming underutilized property into productive spaces,” said Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly. “This much-needed Class A industrial space will generate new jobs and tax revenue for our community.”
“Modern industrial parks and facilities are a critical component to attracting new economic development projects. Urban Story Ventures’ development of this facility in one of Hamilton County’s successful industrial parks will help us grow and attract jobs to our community,” stated Charles Wood, President and CEO of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
Urban Story Ventures is open to leasing the space to one or multiple tenants with a move-in target of next spring. Design highlights for the new industrial/flex facility include at least 185,000 square feet of light to heavy industrial or logistics space, potential for 40,000 square feet of mezzanine space, several loading docks, ample parking, and gated entry. Lead partners include general contractor Grace Construction and architect Method Architecture. Additional information can be requested by emailing [email protected].
