How to Apply to the INCubator

1. Are You a Good Fit? We work with businesses in various industries including:

  • Advanced Manufacturing: Robotics, 3D Printing, Aerospace, and Consumer Goods.

  • Technology: Software, Health & Wellness Tech, Fintech, EdTech, and Renewable Energy.

  • Professional & Support Services: Creative Media, Engineering, Freight, and Logistics. To be a good fit, your business should be scalable and have a focus on innovation. We also welcome businesses in digital platforms, e-commerce, and logistics.

  • Have you been in business for 1-5 years? We’ll need several documents including a cash flow sheet and that requires you to have already been generating revenue. 

2. How Our Program Works Our three-year program is designed to help you scale and ultimately create jobs in the Greater Chattanooga region. The key components include:

  • Education & Training: You must attend at least four educational programs or events per year, which provide valuable networking and business development opportunities.

  • TSBDC Check-ins: Regular check-ins with the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) are required to ensure business progress.

  • Subsidized Rent: Your rent will gradually increase each year, preparing you to transition to market rates after graduation.

3. The Application Process

  • Step 1: Submit your application, business plan, cash flow statement, and an estimate of space needs (include square footage and whether you need office or manufacturing space).

  • Step 2: Applications are reviewed every Friday by our Director. If you meet our criteria, your application will be sent to a TSBDC specialist for further approval.

  • Step 3: If approved, you’ll be invited to pitch your business to our 5&5 Committee. This is a critical step, as the committee will provide feedback on your business and decide whether to move forward. You will receive feedback and results the following Friday. Please note that all application progress emails are sent on Fridays as well.
